What are 2G, 3G and 4G

The terms 2G, 3G and 4G in mobile industry mainly specify the speed with which they can transfer the data.

2G denotes 2nd Generation of mobile/wireless data transfer technology with speed upto 150 KB/sec
3G denotes 3rd Generation of mobile/wireless data transfer technology with speed upto 800 KB/sec
4G denotes 4th Generation of mobile/wireless data transfer technology with speed upto 1GB/sec
